CENTURIONS - how are we doing?
So far we have played 4 matches and every current Centurions player (we have two more players about to join) has taken part, so it's an all round team effort. Below is a very short commentary on each of our matches. Be proud because so far all players have shown moments of good football and all Centurions are improving.
RIPON (away)
Our first match against Ripon was a lesson for many of us in what we would be up against this season. One team up 2 V 0 at half time and the other team down 2 V 0. At the end of each match both teams drew 2 V 2 and we put our first points on the league board.
PANNAL SPORTS PANTHERS (home)
Our second match against Pannal Sports Panthers was an entertaining match and we came away with all the points. Our league position was 3rd.
WETHERBY (away)
Away at Wetherby we won one match convincingly and unfortunately lost to a single goal at the end of our other match to suffer our first defeat. Disapointment and frustration in equal measures but we were still in 5th position in the league.
PANNAL SPORTS (away)
What some consider to be our neighbours entertained us for our next match against Pannal Sports. They were at the top of the league going in to this fixture and despite two close games we came away having suffered a double defeat. Some players were visibly deflated after two hard fought matches but everyone should take heart from the fact that Pannal Sports have their best players in their squad, and in all their matches up until ours had results showing convincing wins against the other teams they had played. - NEXT TIME.
NON-LEAGUE MATCHES
Two Non League matches have been played so far and everyone who has taken part has enjoyed them. Thank you to Killinghall and Boroughbridge for their hospitality. We have more planned and as I write this we have a match against our U8s at Rosett. All the coaches are on the look out for more Non League fixtures as it is important all players in Centurions have match play and improve both as individuals and team players. Please look on our web site as Andy Robson, with Darren Metcalfes help; is keeping the fixtures page updated as they are arranged. Please keep an eye on the fixtures page for up coming matches
Finally can I thank all the parents for your continuing support and most of all the Centurions players who are all keen to play in matches and whilst doing so try very hard.
THINGS AHEAD - some of our parents have some interesting plans for food and beverages at home matches, please support this. We also have The Pannal Ash BASH; a great night out, (tickets now on sale) along with our Christmas raffle with lots of fantastic prizes. (tickets handed out to players soon) It would be great if we all supported these events as after all, money raised will help the club and ultimately help our children.
Thank you and see you at training.

RUGBY WORLD CUP
Alex Ingham and Finn Greenwood have recently played in the local Rugby World Cup held at York and helped Harrogate get through the preliminary rounds and into the semi final.
It's Alexs second year at Harrogate rugby club and has quite a few trys to his name and Finn has recently joined and already made a name for himself as a fierce tackler.
