Match Report - Red Hawks vrs Beckwithshaw (21/10/2012)

A tough outing for the Red Hawks today against Beckwithshaw, who taught us a lesson in maintaining shape, and in rapid release of the ball. Good keeping by Harry M, and great defending from Euan and George, kept the score relatively low in the first game, with teamwork upfront from Callum, Andrew and Noah leading to 4 opportunities, one of which Noah converted, saving our blushes. Conversion of all 4 would have given us a win that we weren't far off deserving. Euan's timely tackling and thoughtful passing earned him Man of the Match honours… again.  Score 1-3.

In the second game, we again played everyone out of position- including the goalie this time, with three different players taking a turn between the posts- well done especially to George, who kept positive despite the pressure from Beckwithshaw. Although the score reflected the fact that we took a light-hearted approach to the game, it was clear that everyone had a lot of fun, with both Sunnie and Euan shining for us. All players were really focussed on the game and played really well, but three players gave unstinting effort (Andrew, Callum and Joel) and Man of the Match ultimately went to Noah, who really put his heart and soul into the game.  Score 0-6.
